PROJECT BRIEF:

Determine a place / thing / situation where you feel a sign could help. Design and make a temporary sign, or sign series The sign must be designed for use somewhere in the public realm.

CONCEPTUALIZATION:

This project aims to encourage the development of personal style, promote sustainable clothing practices, and reduce overconsumption by emphasizing the meaning of clothes you already have. Find our pop-up installation at farmer’s markets, craft fairs, and flea markets across Seattle, and share your stories.

HOW IT UNFOLDS:

Using clothes pins and recycled clothing rack to display, any passerby is able to pick up a corresponding card (i.e shirt, shoes, jeans) and write a short story on the back about the clothing article they want to share. Once finished, they put it back up display creating a mosaic of stories as the day progresses.

THANK YOU:

Thank you Fremont Market for hosting our project as well as my wonderful teammates Caroline and Sarah for the massive amounts of hustle we pulled offto get this done from conceptualization to submission. I’m proud of us for not only completing the assignment, but being able to take it beyond with the interactive installation!

WELCOME TO THE BOTTOM, MEET YOU AT THE TOP?
