PROJECT BRIEF:
Create a symbol set for an event, place, brand, or anywhere else that can be used on different scales. In this case, I chose the local gaming convention: PAX West that takes place in Seattle, Washington.
FIRST ITERATIONS:

A CHALLENGE:
Just trying to find something that would stick. The isometric style felt sterile and the pixels needed a ton of refinement. Eventually, the solution came to combining the two to create isometric pixel icons to create a unique set that echoed the space both digitally and physically.

SHOWCASE POSTER DRAFTS:

THE FINAL DESIGN:
The final designs include a pallete of red to call in the competitive nature of gaming, yellows to chime into achievement, and purples to symbolize the devotion many players put into these games. All of
these symbols are for particular sections found throughout the expo
for easy identifcation of what is what.
THANK YOU:
I wanted to make an extra note to thank my typeface team, EMPIRE (Emi, Cameron, Zach, and Olivia) for helping me mount my board and support me. I have since learned to not do design work while under a fever. As well as thank you to Professor Cheng for constantly trying to push me into evolving my symbols to make them come to life more.
